| GWENDOLINE YEO was born and raised on the tiny island nation of Singapore and moved to the United States as a teenager. She received her BA from UCLA before the age of 20, graduating summa cum laude, phi beta kappa as well as receiving a diploma in Classical Piano from the esteemed San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her love of music led her to specialize in playing the Chinese Long Zither (“gu-zheng”) which culminated in a one woman radio show on NPR-KCRW. It also included the debut of her first two zither/vocal tracks “Kiss My Grits” and “Lovers.” Gwendoline was crowned Miss Chinatown USA in 1998/9 which led her to hosting and commercials. From there, her TV and film career blossomed. | ||||

Sci-fi thriller “NIGHT SKIES” where she plays June Lau. The indie film draws inspiration from the notorious Phoenix Lights UFO phenomenon that took place over Nevada and Arizona on March 13, 1997 where five friends run into more than they bargained for. SFX chief turned director Roy Knyrim (CEMETERY GATES) directs. Now available on DVD. Other film credits: A fun cameo in Sergio Arau’s “A DAY WITHOUT A MEXICAN.” and starred alongside Kerri Russell, Skeet Ulrich and Mare Winningham in Hallmark’s “THE MAGIC OF ORDINARY DAYS,” a movie about the Japanese internment in the 1940s. She also plays Dr. Samantha Yep in Robin Swicord’s “THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB” to be released by Sony. Comedy Commercials / Voice-over VO commercials include HONDA, NESTLE, HP, CORONA (English and Mandarin), BLACK MAGIC, WORLDCOM EXCHANGE (singing jingles in Mandarin and Cantonese), the BAMBOO CLUB, as well as the voice of demure Star in the ORBITZ.COM campaign. Latest promo work include the Gwen Stefani’s music video campaign with HP, promo campaign for feature MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA, and NBC’s Winter Olympics. She was thrilled when asked to narrate Amy Tan’s hit THE JOYLUCK CLUB as an audiobook. Hosting/Spokesperson She’s played spokesperson and host for ad campaigns for GTE, IBM and Microsoft/MSN.
